Tesco Clubcard revamp: last chance to bag maximum value at Café Rouge, Pizza Express and more
Tesco’s decision to ‘simplify’ the Clubcard voucher scheme – delayed from January – will see the value of your points cut by 25% at some retailers, although they could stretch further at others.
If you’ve got Tesco Clubcard points then you might want to use them this weekend.
That’s because the supermarket is changing the value of the vouchers you can get, meaning some customers will lose out.
The move was first revealed in January, but was delayed after a huge customer backlash.
Starting on Monday (June 11), Clubcard points at 80 reward partners will drop from four times their value to three when converted into vouchers (you can find the full list here).
If you want to make the most of your points, we explain where you should shop now, where to avoid until next week and provide a run-down of the other changes Tesco are making.

Where to spend before Monday (June 11)
If you’re planning to go out to eat, Café Rouge, Pizza Express and Prezzo are still offering vouchers worth four times your Clubcard points.
However, if you’re going to Prezzo this weekend, you can also get an online voucher for a huge 40% off the bill – so don’t use your Clubcard points just yet.
In terms of activities, you can still get 4x your points in the capital at Hampton Court Palace, London Zoo, Shakespeare’s Globe and Tower of London.
Outside London, you could check out the paradise Wildlife Park at Broxbourne in Hertfordshire and Lightwater Valley theme park in Yorkshire.
Unfortunately, it’s too late if you wanted to spend points at Halfords, or visit the Cutty Sark – they were among 57 Clubcard partners cut from the scheme in January.
If the latest Clubcard change is too much for you, there are the other supermarket loyalty schemes are available.
Where not to spend until next week
Luckily, there are a few places where the value of your Clubcard points will increase: where you’d previously get 2x your points in vouchers, you’ll now get.
Retailers include Evans Cycles – so wait until Monday to get on your bike – or if you’re more interested in quality tableware, then take at look at Denby’s online store.
Your points will also triple in value when getting vouchers for Megabus or buy train tickers on RedSpottedHanky.
If you’d just like to use your points to avoid some hassle, then you can use them to pay for online grocery delivery with Tesco’s Delivery Saver, and you’ll now get 3x the value.
If you get your groceries delivered – or were thinking of doing so – read our guide.

Hold onto your paper vouchers
Another change Tesco made in January was to make reward vouchers digital – they’ll now be emailed to you rather than Tesco posting paper vouchers.
If you’ve got a voucher, and it hasn’t passed its expiry date, then it is still valid.
If you’d ordered a voucher before January, but it never got posted, then call Tesco’s customer service team on 0800 59 16 88.
It might be worth your while going digital: Tesco currently has a deal where you can get 25% extra Clubcard points on food and fuel if you use their Pay+ smartphone app.
