From the average income to nuisance callers, how well do you know the UK?

New data on what Britons earn, spend, owe and more has been revealed by the Financial Conduct Authority. Test your financial know-how in our short quiz.

Do you know what the average household earns?

Most of us probably think we do, but too often our answers are based on old figures, hearsay or simply made up.

It gets even more complicated when you get into questions like financial knowledge, debt, or whether people are happy with their finances.

Luckily, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has tried to answer these questions, in the first large-scale survey of UK adults and their finances.

They interviewed 13,000 people across the nation, in towns and cities and from all age groups.

If you've ever wondered how your finances compare to everyone else's, the report is well worth a read - but not before you've taken our quiz!

How did you do?

The quiz only looks at the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the FCA's extensive report (read it here), which will inform the regulators' decision making, and perhaps force action on problem areas such as overdrafts.

Still, if you're disappointed with your answers, you might want to subscribe to loveMONEY's newsletter to keep on top of the latest personal finance news and get tips to help you save and make money.
