M&S store closures: 17 more branches set to shut its doors

Stores in Hull, Huddersfield and Bedford among those earmarked in latest round of closures.

Marks & Spencer has identified 17 more stores that look set to close for good as part of its ongoing restructuring, putting more than 1,000 jobs at risk.

The retailer is planning to scrap 100 stores by 2022 as it looks to revive its ailing business by focusing more on its online business and shutting down less profitable stores.

To date, 30 stores have been closed and the firm says it will now consult with staff to hear any ideas on how to save the 17 latest stores earmarked for closure.

The company says it won’t close any stores until this process is completed.

We’ve listed the 17 stores lined up for closure below, as well as the 30 that have already shut their doors.
