Poll: are you financially better or worse off because of lockdown?

The requirement to stay at home has been financially devastating for some, but others have actually benefitted. How have you fared?

Back in March the UK was told to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.

While minimising the devastating loss of life that has already hit so many families is undoubtedly the aim of lockdown, it has also affected our personal finances.

Millions of people have been furloughed, losing at least 20% of their income, while many others have lost their ability to earn altogether.

On the flip side, many have found that no longer having to commute, the lack of spending on entertainment and the general drop in costs as a result of staying home has left them better off.

Now that the lockdown measures have been relaxed slightly, we thought it would be a good time to find out how readers have fared during the last couple of months from a financial perspective.

Have you found extra pounds in your account at month-end, or have you been struggling desperately?

Let us know by voting in our poll and share your thoughts in the comments section below, explaining how your finances have changed – if at all.
