The best and worst energy suppliers

Take a look at the results of this year's Which? energy satisfaction survey.

Which? has published its annual energy satisfaction survey, ranking the best and worst energy suppliers via a survey of 8,000 customers.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, given Which? estimates there were four million complaints made to the ‘Big Six’ suppliers (British Gas, EDF, E.ON, npower, SSE and Scottish Power) last year, it was the smaller companies who scored highest.

Good Energy topped the list, followed by Utility Warehouse and Ecotricity. The survey asked customers to rank their supplier on factors including customer service, value for money and accuracy of bills.

It’s worth noting that the results above are for suppliers operating in England, Wales and Scotland.

A wave of price rises last summer sparked a sharp increase in the number of complaints to Consumer Focus, Consumer Direct and the Energy Ombudsman.

But new research by Which? found that 23% of people did not pursue a complaint against an energy company when they had cause to.
