Supermarket own brands
As well as offering better-known brands, several supermarkets have also launched own-brand products that could be worth a look.
As the supermarket’s first luxury egg, Asda’s Cocoa Noir Egg (£15) is a mixture of blonde and dark chocolate, plus liqueur mini eggs.
At the more affordable end of the scale, Sainsbury’s has a range of Taste the Difference eggs on offer for Nectar members until 19 March. This includes a 230g Dark Chocolate Orange Egg (£6 for Nectar members) and a 250g Free From Extra Thick Rocky Road Egg (£7 for Nectar members).
Who comes out on top overall?
The value of having a loyalty card is clear from these results. Tesco is often one of the cheaper options, though that relies on you being a member of its Clubcard scheme. Otherwise, you would pay the same or even more than rival supermarkets.
We should also point out that some of Tesco’s top offers are showing as out-of-stock as we get closer to Easter.
If you’re looking to buy several eggs, then Asda could be a great option as its multibuy offers often mean it can offer the best value.
With many of the slightly more expensive luxury eggs, there is often a tie, with these products frequently coming in at the same price across different retailers.
Also, be aware that fresh offers are coming out most days so it’s worth keeping an eye open for new deals on your favourite treats.
