10 ways to save money on Mondays

From discounted sushi and films to free cocktails and wine, there are plenty of ways to save a fortune on Mondays.

Beat those Monday blues with a night out. Even if your funds are running low we’ve found discount deals available on the first day of the working week to suit every pocket.

Spice up Mondays at Yo Sushi

Mondays at Yo Sushi are ‘Blue Plate’ day when fifty of its favourite dishes are available at the reduced price of £2.50 a plate, saving up to 40% on the usual price tag.  

Choose from dishes including spicy pepper squid or tuna maki, while meat eaters can go for crispy duck and moromi miso hand roll. Freshly cooked hot dishes are still available, but these will be charged at the standard price. There’s sixty five outlets across the country including York, Plymouth, Cardiff and Norwich with most open until around 10pm on Mondays.

Half price meals at The Slug and Lettuce

Walk into any Slug and Lettuce bar and you’ll automatically get 50% off your food bill as part of its ‘Happy Mondays’ deal. 

You can turn up any time on a Monday and get to choose from its standard menu, which includes everything from chilli con carne to sausages, burgers and chicken dishes. Seventy outlets across the country from Bath to Edinburgh and Newcastle to Southend.

25% off at Frankie & Benny's

There’s 25% off your food bill every Monday evening at Frankie & Benny’s with its ‘Monday Madness’ offer. This one bills itself as a New York Italian restaurant and bar with a menu that includes burgers, pastas, meatballs, salads and steaks. 

There are no vouchers needed; just turn up anytime from 5pm–10pm at over 200 locations. And with free Wi-Fi available, even if you haven’t finished work for the day you don’t have to sit at your desk a moment longer.

A Mojito on the house

It’s ‘buy one, get one free’ on cocktails on Mondays at three of Drake & Morgan’s city location bars and restaurants. It's worth £7.50 a time, so take a friend and split the bill to get a cocktail for £3.75 each. Deal runs until 30th November.

Movie Mondays

Sky TV customers can buy up to two tickets for £3 each to see any film including 3D movies at the O2 Cineworld in London.  

Just sign in online with your Sky ID details and you can either print off a voucher to buy your discounted tickets on arrival or pre-book online for the following Monday. Saves nearly £8 a ticket.

Sky Rewards means you can see some films before they hit general release, absolutely free too!

Theatre tickets for a tenner

The Royal Court Theatre has £10 Monday deals. Half the tickets on offer can only be pre-booked by members (it costs £25 a year to join), but the other half can be snapped up online from 9am on the day. 

Standard ticket prices range from £12-£28 so you get to bag nearly 50% off seats. And while it’s not a Monday exclusive, you can also get tickets for just 10p if you’re prepared to stand as four ‘standing’ tickets are released every night one hour before curtain up.

Monday madness steak night

If your weekend has left you feeling in need of some comfort food and great British grub then head for the Wine and Sausage restaurant at Taunton’s Corner House Hotel where you can have any main course for £9.95 every Monday. 

[SPOTLIGHT]This means its signature dish of 8oz ribeye steak with creamy garlic potatoes and wild mushroom cream sauce is served up for £9.95 instead of the usual £19.95. Deal runs to the end of September.

Free bottle of wine

Monday Saver night means you’ll get a free bottle of wine with your dinner plus 50% off all pizza, pasta and main dishes from 5pm at Prego in Liverpool. 

To get your money’s worth go for the most expensive meal on the menu which is the £23.95 ‘Filetto Rustico’, a prime cut barrel fillet steak served with peppers, mushrooms and bacon in a red wine sauce which you can get for under £12.

Tapas for a tenner

The Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal, Cumbria is a one-stop-shop for theatre, cinema, arts and eating out. Make the most of its’ new deal, ‘Tenner Monday’, where you can get two tapas dishes, plus salad and a selection of local breads for £10. That's a saving of around 50%, but tables must be pre-booked to bag the deal.

And cinema tickets are a fiver each on Mondays, a saving of up to £3 a ticket with a choice of big screen blockbusters and specialised and classic films on offer.

Monday massage for under £10

Feel your stress levels rising and you’ve only been in the office for an hour?  Treat yourself to a relaxing half hour massage or even a manicure or pedicure all with 50% off at ‘Forever Gorgeous’ at the Queen’s Hotel in Bournemouth.  

As part of its ‘Mad Mondays’ deal a selection of discounted treatments are available which means you’ll pay £7 for an Indian head massage or Swedish massage and around £5 to get your nails done but treatments must be pre-booked.
