It will now cost you £2 to play the National Lottery.
The price of a National Lottery Lotto ticket has now doubled to £2.
Lottery organiser Camelot says the price rise means bigger prizes – for some. Matching three numbers will now get you £25 rather than £10, while matching four balls will see your prize move from an average of £60 to £100.
Meanwhile the average jackpot is predicted to rise to around £5 million for Saturday draws and £2.5 million on Wednesdays.
[SPOTLIGHT]However, if you match five balls or five balls plus the bonus ball, you will probably now receive a lower prize. According to Camelot, five balls will now bag you an average of £1,000, down from £1,500, while five balls plus the bonus ball will net you £50,000, down from £100,000.
A special new lottery raffle has been launched too. Each lottery ticket will include a unique number which is entered into the raffle, with 50 prizes of £20,000. One thousand people will also walk away prizes of £20,000. The special raffle draws will be held on 5th October and 12th October.
