This weekend Nectar points can be exchanged for vouchers worth twice as much at Sainsbury's.
This weekend you can double the value of your Nectar points by cashing them in at Sainsbury’s shops with the ‘Double Value Exchange’.
It runs from the 22nd to the 24th November and you’ll be able to exchange Nectar points for a £10 or £20 voucher which can be redeemed at the supermarket.
Each voucher will be worth double the amount you have in points and can be used until 26th November.
Double points exchange
The vouchers you’ll be given cover four categories; champagne, beauty, electricals and frozen desserts. So if you were planning on spending on these areas anyway, now is a good time to do so. In each category you’ll allowed to redeem one voucher, to a maximum of £20.
So if you have 1,000 points on your Nectar card you can exchange them for a £10 voucher, whereas normally 1,000 points would be worth £5.
There are some restrictions on what you can buy. For example in the electricals range you’re allowed to use a voucher to buy items such as kitchen appliances, cameras and printers, but not for DVDs and CDs, mobiles phones or games consoles.
Within the frozen desserts category you won’t be able to buy frozen pastry or fruit, while vitamins and pharmacy goods aren’t included within the beauty category. A full list of terms and conditions including participating shops can be found on the website.

Sainsbury’s is not the only supermarket offering customers a boost in loyalty points. The Tesco Clubcard Boost works in a similar way and allows customers to boost £5 of Clubcard points into £10 of ‘Boost’ tokens to spend at the shop.
Again, the tokens can only be used in certain categories; electricals, opticians, toys & bikes, finest wine & champagne, and clothing. Boost tokens can be exchanged until 20th December and must be used by 31st December. This can be done in a participating shop or online.
The Tesco boost is slightly more flexible as it includes a wider range of products. But restrictions do apply and a detailed list of included items can be found on the Tesco website.
The MyWaitrose card has a similar festive deal called ‘Four Festive Shops’. If you spend more than £50 (online or in a shop) at least four times before 1st December you’ll get a £25 voucher which will be sent out in January.
