Current Discounts And Deals #54
Fancy a set-top box for a tenner? Want to know how you can enjoy Pimms o'clock for less? Or do you simply want 50% off clothes and deep discounts on DVDs? Your wish is our command!
With the summer sales now in full swing, there's plenty for shoppers to get excited about this weekend.
Having said that, the prospect of braving Britain's busy high streets may be enough to put off even the keenest buyer.
Who wants to spend Saturday squeezing their way through crowds of Biblical proportions -- especially when there's summer strawberries to be eaten and cut-price Pimms to be drunk?
Thankfully, there's an array of online shopping options -- which mean the best of the high street's bargains can be bought from the comfort of your sofa.
Super Summer Sales
First up this week, there's a couple of treats in store for gentleman Fools.
Topman is offering up to 50% off a range of items, which means that discounted cardigans, jeans, shirts and t-shirts can all be bought at the click of a button.
Burton has also begun its half price sale, with a host of items available reduced.
Asos.com has an array of men's and women's items on sale, some of which have been discounted by 50% or more. I love this site -- and if you've never visited, now's a good time to check it out.
Continuing the unisex theme, Uniqlo is now offering up to 50% off selected men's and women's clothing, while Urban Outfitters has once again stepped up the scale of its summer sale.
Shoe retailers Dune and Schuh have also thrown themselves into the price-cutting game this week, with both stores offering reductions on shoes, boots and sandals. Meanwhile, Office has begun its summer sale, with mid-season savings of up to 50% available.
Faith's summer sale continues, with a `buy one pair, get another pair free' offer available on sale shoes in store. Online shoppers can get discounts of an extra 10% off sale prices, simply by entering the code EX10SALE at the checkout.
Miss Selfridge has also extended its range of sale items -- some of which have more than 50% off. Elsewhere, Dorothy Perkins has begun its final clearance event, with further reductions available on already-discounted items.
Debenhams has also extended discounts on selected items, some of which now have up to 70% off.
Finally, if there's one shopping-related sentence that rarely fails to elicit a groan from most people, it's: "I think we could do with going to Ikea."
I'm afraid I have mixed tidings for reluctant homewares hunters, because the Swedish shopping emporium is having a seasonal sale -- but it's only available in stores!
However, with discounts of up to 50% available, I'd say it may be worth steeling your nerves, setting off early and grabbing the goods you need for less...
Delightful Discs
As always, there's a variety of offers available this weekend on CDs and DVDs.
Play.com has a host of DVDs available from just £2.99 right now. With titles as diverse as Billy Elliot and 8 Mile available, there's something to suit every taste.
The creepy but compelling film Children Of Men is also available for £3.99 from Play.com. Clive Owen plays the hero in this apocalyptic tale, set in a future where fascism rules and human beings are an endangered species.
Any Fools looking for something more light-hearted might enjoy this next tip. Box sets of both the Pirates Of The Caribbean and Back To The Future trilogies are currently available from Zavvi at knock-down prices. All three Pirates films can be bought for £13.99, a saving of £26 off the RRP. Meanwhile, the BTTF box set is reduced by £12 to £7.99.
Elsewhere, Harry Potter fans can get hold of the fifth movie in the series, Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, for £2.99 from cd-wow.com. That's a massive reduction of £22 off the RRP!
Music fans looking for a bargain this week might find this offer on The Very Best Of The Stone Roses too tempting to resist. It's £2.99 at Play.com (£13 less than the RRP), and it features several classic Madchester hits.
Play.com is also running special offers on greatest hits compilations, punk CDs and musical soundtracks right now. Albums start at £1.99.
Anyone looking to get active this summer -- without actually leaving the house -- might want to check out Tesco Jersey's offer on this Summer Athletics game for the Nintendo Wii. It's reduced by more than 50% to a bargainous £12.97.
Last, but definitely not least, comes the news that Asda stores will be offering digital set-top boxes for a cheap and cheerful £10 from Saturday. Be quick to get yours, though, as the offer lasts for this weekend only -- it ends on 30 June.
Fabulous Food
If you're planning a barbeque, Sainsbury's could be the place to shop this weekend. There's a wide range of special offers available on meat, bread and fruit and vegetables.
Meanwhile, Asda has put together a special range of discounts to celebrate Wimbledon. Pimms is reduced to £7, Jacobs Creek sparkling wine is £6.12 and Haagen Dazs ice cream is still just £2.
In related news, Asda and Tesco have begun a so-called `price war' this week. Tesco has promised to reduce the price of 3,000 items by up to 50% from Monday, while Asda has stated its intention to sell certain staple foods (including bread, eggs and butter) for 50p per item.
That's definitely something to consider before you start next week's grocery shopping!
Beauty And Breaks
Cosmetics kings and queens might want to head to Boots.com this weekend. In its summer sale, there's up to 75% off a wide range of items.
And if it's a getaway you're interested in, why not check out Expedia? There's currently a range of offers available on both city and beach breaks in European locations.
And anyone looking to stay closer to home could still be in with a chance of grabbing a nifty £19 room from Travelodge. This special offer was extended earlier this week, with an extra 10,000 rooms made available -- so get clicking before they go!
Have a fun -- and Foolish -- weekend.
Offers Which Continue To Be Valid:
