The Government has announced plans to cut driving licence costs by up to a third.

It wants to reduce the price of new applications to drop from £50 to £34 while ten-year renewals will be cut from £20 to £14. However, paper application fees will only go down by 15% as the DVLA wants as many applicants as possible to sign up online.

All tachograph cards will also fall from £38 to £32.
