New independent energy supplier Oink Energy launches, promising simple energy tariffs.
Oink Energy, a new energy brand from independent supplier Green Energy, has launched today.
The firm promises a a straightforward approach to gas and electricity in the form of one simple, dual fuel tariff, payable by direct debit.

The company’s mission statement outlines how it claims to be different to other providers. It promises that you can speak to a named person within 30 seconds of calling, getting an email response to your query on the same working day.
Guides will also be provided to help customers reduce their energy consumption.
Oink has put a lot of weight into some research carried out earlier this year by ComRes. It surveyed 2,000 people and found that:
- 94% ranked competitive pricing highly from their energy supplier with 92% saying that customer service is just as important
- 72% are looking for an ethical attitude rfom their provider
- Over half say they want a non-corporate brand while a third think that their supplier is independent of the Big Six energy suppliers
- 82% say that the Big Six are too focused on profits (82%) and 55% say that they aren’t transparent enough about their actions and finances

As you can see, Oink Energy is more expensive than its independent competitors by quite a long way, and that's not even the maximum price. In some areas the annual cost on Oink shoots up to £1,198 a year, making it more expensive than even some of the biggest providers.
