What are Nectar points worth?

Nectar points can be exchanged for a variety of rewards.

You can use them to get money off treats, flights, day trips, restaurants, holidays and shopping through the scheme’s many partners.

Points are normally worth about 0.5p each, so every 500 points is equivalent to £2.50.

However, some partners offer boosted rewards. For example right now 500 points can be exchanged for £3.75 to spend at Pizza Express or £5 at Thorpe Park.

Other ways to boost Nectar points

As well as shopping through selected partners in store and online and taking advantage of point boosting events, you can also use a credit card to build up your Nectar points balance.

Sainsbury's Bank offers the chance to collect four points for every £1 spent at Sainsbury’s or on Sainsbury’s fuel and one point for every £5 spent elsewhere on its 33-Month 0% Balance Transfer Credit Card, 18-Month 0% Purchase and Balance Transfer Credit Card, Low Balance Transfer Fee Credit Card and Low Rate Credit Card.

There’s also the American Express Nectar Card. This card offers 20,000 Nectar points as a welcome bonus, so long as you spend £2,000 on the card in the first three months. After that you get four points for every £1 you spend at Nectar partners or two points for every £1 everywhere else. The card normally attracts a £25 annual fee, but currently it’s fee-free for a year.  For more read American Express drops fee on Nectar Credit Card for a year.
