John Fitzsimons looks at a brilliant new credit card which is a must-have for drivers.
Hello, I'm John Fitzsimons from lovemoney.com, and on today's Get the Best Deal I'm going to be looking at a brilliant new rewards card which offers a fantastic return to frequent drivers.
So what's so good about the AA credit card?
A must for drivers
This card is an absolute must for those of you that spend hours driving every week, because it really rewards the spending you do on your car.
For starters, you will pay 0% interest on all motoring and fuel purchases until February next year, which is a great offer. But this card really comes into its own with its rewards programme.
A great reward scheme
For each pound you spend on motoring purchases, you get one reward point, while two pounds on other purchases will also get you one point. These points are then doubled if you are an AA member.
And points really do mean prizes - you can redeem them on AA products, like car insurance or travel products like maps. You also have a range of motoring products that you can exchange your points for, like child seats and roof racks, as well as traditional treats like high street vouchers as well.
You can even turn those points into a cash reward!
Sorting out your debt
If you have existing debt on a credit card the AA credit card is a decent option, offering 0% interest on balance transfers until February 2011. This is far from being the best option on the market, lagging well behind the market-leading Virgin credit card, but it's decent nonetheless.
It's also a terrific option if you constantly find yourself overdrawn, as it allows you to make money transfers to your current account, for a 4% fee, and you won't pay any interest on that transfer for a year.
Overall I think the AA credit card is fantastic. If you're after a traditional balance transfer or rewards card, there may be better alternatives, but if you spend a lot of time behind the wheel it's a must-have card.
That's it for me for today, thanks for watching lovemoney.com
