Where to get the handsets cheapest
If you’re keen on a SIM-free handset to avoid being locked into a pay monthly contract you’ll need to pay for the devices in full upfront.
The recommended retail prices are £599.99 for the S6 32GB base model, £660 for the S6 64GB or £740 for the S6 128GB. If you're after the S6 Edge 64GB base model you’ll have to pay £760 or there’s also a 128GB model but prices haven’t yet been confirmed.
Giffgaff says due to "massive global demand" for the new handsets, Samsung can't provide the firm with stock on the launch date. But giffgaff says when it does get stock it will be offering the S6 32GB for £549, S6 64GB for £619, S6 128GB for £699, S6 Edge 64GB for £729 and S6 Edge 128 GB for £799- all at a significant saving compared to the RRP.
Giffgaff sells its handset unlocked which means you can use a SIM from any network in the phone, but initially you’ll need to purchase one of its 30-day ‘goodybags’. Giffgaff 4G goodybags start from £12 for 500 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of data.
