Third price rise in a year.
BT has bumped up the price of its of its upfront line rental deal by almost £15, the third price rise in a year.
This takes the price of the Line Rental Saver package from £169.90 a year to £183.48 a year, effective from 10th May.
The price of the line rental deal was increased from £141 to £159.84 last May, and then rose again to £169.90 in December.
[SPOTLIGHT]Paying for your full year's line rental in one go is a way to cut the cost of your telecom bills. However, it's now more expensive to do it with BT than anyone else. With EE, a full year's line rental costs just £132 for example. That's more than £50 a year cheaper than BT.
Those who signed up before 10th May and paid for upfront line rental won’t be affected unless they decide to renew. Then they’ll need to choose between paying the new rate or switching.
