Saga shares its weirdest caravan claims.
Caravanning is one of the most popular forms of holiday for Brits, with around one in ten over-50s set to sleep in a caravan this year.
However, it's not without risk, as Saga has revealed with the five strangest caravan insurance claims it received over the last year.
Kamikaze pigeons
One couple’s caravan was bombed by a pigeon falling out of a tree. Shocked by a loud bang, they pulled over to discover that the bird had smashed through a window and caused enough damage to warrant an insurance claim of around £1,000.
Flying trampolines
Severe storms in parts of the UK left debris in gardens across the country. One caravan owner discovered his neighbour's trampoline had been picked up by the winds and dropped on top of his caravan, causing approximately £6,000 worth of damage.

Stuck shut
[SPOTLIGHT]Finding that she couldn’t open any of the doors when packing for a holiday, a Saga policyholder began a closer inspection of her caravan to find that a prankster had superglued them shut. As a result the seals needed replacing, which cost over £500.
Missing seats
After taking their caravan out of storage, one caravan owner wanted to give it a bit of a clean before getting out on the road. Unfortunately, someone had broken into the storage unit and stolen all of the seats. Their insurance claim was to the tune of £800 for replacements.
Sat nav directions gone wrong
Don’t always trust your sat nav. One caravan owner got stuck along a tight country road while following his sat nav’s directions to a caravan park. Tree branches scratched the side of his caravan, causing around £1,000 worth of damage.
Roger Ramsden, chief executive of Saga Services said that like any adventure, caravanning was not without risk.
He added: “While some things can’t be prevented, having the right cover in place can help people to get back on the road as quickly as possible so they can carry on exploring the world.”
