Ford Fiesta tops list of best-selling cars of 2015 so far.
New car sales have enjoyed a record first half of 2015, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
New car registrations increased 7% in the first six months of the year to 1,376,889, setting a new half-year record. What’s more, buyers are particularly keen on British-built cars – they account for almost 14% of sales, the highest level in five years.
But which new cars are the most popular? Let's take a look at which models have sold the most so far in 2015.
1 – Ford Fiesta
Leading the way is the Ford Fiesta, with 71,990 cars sold this year.
The Fiesta is the UK’s best-selling car of all time, and retails from £10,145.
The current model boasts a keyless entry system and allows you to start the car with a single touch – it “automatically sense the presence of its own unique key fob”, even if it’s in your pocket.

2 – Vauxhall Corsa
Next up is the Corsa from Vauxhall, which has sold 50,150 units in 2015.
The new version of the Corsa comes in three- and five-door versions, and costs from £9,175, though you can get a £250 discount via the Vauxhall website which lasts until 7th October.
3 – Ford Focus
Another Ford model, the Focus has shifted 45,078 units so far this year.
It retails from £13,995 for the basic five-door model, all the way up to £21,245 for the six-speed diesel estate.

4 – Volkswagen Golf
Around 38,261 Volkswagen Golf cars have been bought this year according to the SMMT.
The Golf is available from £17,595 and comes in three- and five-door models.
5 – Nissan Qashqai
The Nissan Qashqai retails from £18,545. According to the SMMT around 34,501 units have been sold this year.
The Qashqai won the small SUV car of the year award from WhatCar? in both 2014 and 2015.
6 – Vauxhall Astra
The Vauxhall Astra has sold 29,966 units this year.
It’s generally available from £15,445, though you can currently get the Astra Excite 1.4 for £12,595.
7 – Volkwagen Polo
The New Polo from Volkswagen starts at £11,300 for the S model. It has sold 28,980 units so far this year.
Earlier this year it was named the Supermini of the Year by AutoExpress.

8 – Audi A3
The Audi A3 retails from £18,615. The SMMT reported it has sold 25,765 units this year.
The Sportback model won the best family car trophy in the 2015 What Car? Awards.
9 – Mercedes-Benz C Class
According to the SMMT, 24,676 units of Mercedes-Benz C Class cars have sold so far in 2015.
It’s the most expensive car on the list, with prices for the saloon model starting at £27,655.
Earlier this year it was named the overall world car of the year at the World Car Awards.
10 – Mini
In tenth place is the Mini, with 23,455 units sold in the first six months of the year.
Prices start at £13,935 for a three-door hatchback.
