Household bills set to rise again for millions of TalkTalk customers.
TalkTalk is putting its prices up for the second time this year.
The provider has announced a fresh set of hikes for its phone and broadband users from 1st October with more to follow from 1st December.
TalkTalk customers were hit with price increases of up to 43% just three months ago, but now will face rises of up to 50%.
What’s changing?
From 1st October the cost of standard line rental is rising from £16.70 to £17.70 a month – a 6% increase.
Meanwhile value line rental, which allows you to pay for a year upfront, is being hiked from £180.36 to £191.16 a year.
The price of the Simply Broadband deal is jumping from £5 a month to £7.50 a month – a 50% rise. This will come as a shock to customers who were just hit with a 43% rise in June 2015 when the price changed from £3.50 to £5.
From 1st December the call connection fee, which is charged when you make calls outside your package, will rise from 16p to 17p a call.
At the same time the access charge to call service providers using 084, 087, 09 and 118 numbers will increase from 5p to 7.5p per minute (a 50% rise) for calls from landlines and from 20p to 25p per minute for calls made from mobiles (a 25% rise).
Standard and discounted international calling rates are also changing. You can see how here.
