Bonfire Night 2024 is just around the corner, and many shoppers will be on the hunt for some cheap fireworks deals to mark the occasion.
Supermarkets are a popular option for many as, not only are they everywhere, but they also tend to have some pretty decent fireworks offers.
So what’s on offer, and what will it cost you? It’s also worth remembering that fireworks will be available from specialist outlets too, should your local supermarket not have a decent stock to take advantage of.
A quick introduction to fireworks
Fireworks are great fun, but all these different names can be confusing.
We’ve given you a quick rundown of the most popular types of fireworks.
Cake: A cake is a multi-shot firework that has its effects in tubes, so they are aligned horizontally, so you’d have tubes side-by-side, rather than stacked on top of each other.
(Roman) candle: A firework with its effects packed in a cardboard tube, as opposed to the cake’s horizontal makeup.
Finale: Fireworks which are kept for the end and are noisier than the others.
Fountain: A static firework that creates a fountain effect and a crackly sound when ignited.
Mine: All of the elements of the firework are lit at the same time and shoot upward from a card tube.
Rocket: A firework that takes off and displays its effects in the air.
Wheel: Also, known as the Catherine Wheel, these fireworks spin quickly to create a wheel of sparks.

Cheap Aldi fireworks deals 2024
Fireworks are on sale currently at Aldi and there are a few different options for different budgets.
Sparklers
You can pick up a 10-pack of 10’” sparklers for just 99p at Aldi. If you fancy going for a bigger sparkler, there are packets of 12 18” sparklers for £1.99 each.
Budget box
If you’re looking for a box of fireworks for your own home display, then there’s a 12-shot box called Razzle Dazzle which will set you back £5.99, while you can opt for the 20-shot Snap Crackle Bang box for £29.99.
All-out box
If you can spend a bit more, then you get a whopping 132 shots with the Big Boom box, which costs £39.99. Finally, there’s the Lightning Force box which includes 188 shots and costs £49.99.
Cheap Asda fireworks deals 2024
All-out box
The supermarket does not have many bargain firework packages available this year.
However, it has quite a few different options if you’re looking for an all-in-one box, where you light it once and stand back to admire the show.
For example, there’s the Cyber Punk (70 shots) for £75, the Black Cat Fiesta (37 shots) costing £89, the Fallen Angel at £85 (for 120 shots) and the Black Cat Independence Day (110 shots) for £149.
There's also a Dynasty selection box including sparklers - Asda is not selling these individually this year - with 15 pieces for £119.
If you have a bigger budget, there's the Black Cat Extreme Firepower for £199, which includes a 54 shot, 70 shot and 90 shot firework.
Cheap Lidl fireworks deals 2024
Fireworks at Lidl are available until 5th November.
Sparklers
A 10-pack of giant sparklers from Lidl will cost you £1.99.
Budget box
If you’re on a budget, then there’s the Energiser 12-piece selection box for £9.99 (or 3 for £25), as well as the Magnetism selection box which includes 14 pieces and costs £14.99.
All-out box
If you’ve got a bigger budget, you can take advantage of the 56-shot Velocity (£39.99) and the 90-shot Supercharged (£49.99) packs.

Fireworks are on sale at Morrisons until 6th November, and are available in-store only.
Sparklers
You can nab a five pack of 10” sparklers for 50p each, while there’s also the 18” options which will set you back £1.
Budget box
The Tempest selection box includes 15 pieces and costs £14, or there’s the Demon display box (30 pieces) for £28. You might also like to stretch to the 5 item 40 piece per pack Viper box for £43.
All-out box
At the top end, there’s the Imperial display pack, which will set you back £125. It contains 61 pieces per pack.
Cheap Sainsbury’s fireworks deals 2024
Sainsbury's stopped selling fireworks in 2019 so you'll need to visit a rival supermarket.
Cheap Tesco fireworks deals 2024
Sparklers
A packet of five Titanium sparklers costs £1 at Tesco this year.
Budget box
If you’re on a budget, the Carnival selection box costs £8, or three for £20, while there’s also the Northern Lights selection box ‒ which contains 15 items ‒ costing £15 each or two for £25.
All-out box
The Grand Finale Single Ignition contains a whopping 100 shots and costs £55, while there’s also the Showstopper. It's a 30 shot fan effect cake, which costs £35 or £45 for two.
Lastly, there's the Power Force Barrage Pack, which at £120 with eight pieces, has 198 shots.
Check your home insurance
Don't get hit by horrible surprise costs after the event – make sure you have comprehensive buildings and contents insurance.
If you damage your property, with a stray firework, for example, this can be claimed for under a comprehensive buildings insurance accidental damage cover plan.
Stay safe
There are also certain precautions to keep in mind before the day. Fireworks should always be kept in a sealed tin and used one at a time.
Check for BS EN 15947 or CE markings, which confirm they’ve been made to meet British or European safety standards.
