Current Discounts And Deals #55

Updated on 16 December 2008 | 0 Comments

Cut-price hotel rooms, cheap meals and £1 train tickets are just some of the deals around at the moment. Find out all about them here!

The sales are still going at a frenzied pace this week -- with plenty of new bargains added in the last few days. And there also are some great new travel and accommodation deals to take advantage of.

So, let's kick off straight away with some new cut-price bargains. If you're a lady looking to re-vamp your undies collection, head for the La Senza summer sale. There's a hefty 50% off lots of bras, nightwear and other frilly treats.

On a slightly more banal note -- are you looking for some shiny new pots and pans? As part of Debenhams price-slashing antics, this five-piece pan set is now £42, reduced from £140.

Or if outdoor cooking's more up your street -- check out the latest special buys at Lidl. The deep discounter is currently selling a range of cheap barbeque essentials, including food, sauces, cups for 49p and a pack of ten grill trays for £1.79.

If you can't be bothered to cook at all, you could head off to your local Slug and Lettuce pub instead. If you register your email address on the website, you'll be able to print out a voucher which gives you £5 off a £10 spend -- on either food or drink -- at any Slug and Lettuce venue.

Are you struggling to afford a break this summer? There are a couple of deals around at the moment which could help you slash the cost of your holiday.

First up, Best Western Hotels is celebrating its 30th birthday by offering a £30 room deal. If you book between now and July 6th, you'll pay just £30 per room per night for stays between 21st July and 7th September, at 90 participating hotels.

As usual, just make sure you've read all the terms and conditions before parting with your cash. For example, this rate doesn't include breakfast -- and a minimum two-night stay applies.

Finally, here's a good deal for those planning a trip between UK cities. Megabus provides low-cost intercity bus and train services within the UK.

If you book now for journeys from July 14th onwards, you could bag a single train ticket from Glasgow to Birmingham for just £1.50, and a return journey for £2.50. And that even includes the booking fee!

Offers Which Continue To Be Valid:

Topman is offering up to 50% off a range of items, which means that discounted cardigans, jeans, shirts and t-shirts can all be bought at the click of a button.

Burton has also begun itshalf price sale, with a host of items available reduced.

Asos.com has an array of men's and women's items on sale, some of which have been discounted by 50% or more. I love this site -- and if you've never visited, now's a good time to check it out.

Continuing the unisex theme, Uniqlo is now offering up to 50% off selected men's and women's clothing, while Urban Outfitters has once again stepped up the scale of its summer sale.

Shoe retailers Dune and Schuh have also thrown themselves into the price-cutting game this week, with both stores offering reductions on shoes, boots and sandals. Meanwhile, Office has begun its summer sale, with mid-season savings of up to 50% available.

Faith's summer sale continues, with a `buy one pair, get another pair free' offer available on sale shoes in store. Online shoppers can get discounts of an extra 10% off sale prices, simply by entering the code EX10SALE at the checkout.

Miss Selfridge has also extended its range of sale items -- some of which have more than 50% off. Elsewhere, Dorothy Perkins has begun its final clearance event, with further reductions available on already-discounted items.

Debenhams has also extended discounts on selected items, some of which now have up to 70% off.

if there's one shopping-related sentence that rarely fails to elicit a groan from most people, it's: "I think we could do with going to Ikea."

I'm afraid I have mixed tidings for reluctant homewares hunters, because the Swedish shopping emporium is having a seasonal sale -- but it's only available in stores!

However, with discounts of up to 50% available, I'd say it may be worth steeling your nerves, setting off early and grabbing the goods you need for less...

As always, there's a variety of offers available on CDs and DVDs. Play.com has a host of DVDs available from just £2.99 right now.

Meanwhile, Asda has put together a special range of discounts to celebrate Wimbledon. Pimms is reduced to £7, Jacobs Creek sparkling wine is £6.12 and Haagen Dazs ice cream is still just £2.

In related news, Asda and Tesco have begun a so-called `price war'. Tesco has promised to reduce the price of 3,000 items by up to 50% from Monday, while Asda has stated its intention to sell certain staple foods (including bread, eggs and butter) for 50p per item.

That's definitely something to consider before you start next week's grocery shopping!

Cosmetics kings and queens might want to head to Boots.com this weekend. In its summer sale, there's up to 75% off a wide range of items.

And if it's a getaway you're interested in, why not check out Expedia? There's currently a range of offers available on both city and beach breaks in European locations.

Anyone looking to stay closer to home could still be in with a chance of grabbing a nifty £19 room from Travelodge. This special offer was extended earlier this week, with an extra 10,000 rooms made available -- so get clicking before they go!

If you love your lingerie, you might be interested in the clearance sale at Figleaves.com -- there's up to 70% off undies for both men and women.

Voucher code heaven can be found at myvouchercodes.co.uk, a website which lists a range of discount codes and printable vouchers to help you save on your everyday shopping. You may also want to check out codes.co.uk and hotukdeals.com.

And Amazon fans looking for a bargain should take note of Price Cut Review, a nifty website that lists all current Amazon products selling at half price or less.
