Find out where you can finally get petrol for less than a quid.
Motorists can pay less than £1 for a litre of petrol if they shop at Morrisons.
Spend more than £40 or more in participating Morrisons stores before 29 November and you'll get a voucher for a whopping 7p off every litre of fuel. You then have until 6 December to redeem the voucher. That discount is enough to take the price of a litre of petrol at Morrisons below £1; it is currently charging around £1.05 a litre.
It's hoped that Morrisons' latest move will encourage others to follow suit.
RAC fuel spokesman Simon Williams said: “Even though this is linked to a promotion this is a good news for motorists as it paves the way for other retailers to be lowering their petrol prices towards the £1 a litre mark.
"We anticipate that many of the cheapest fuel retailers will soon be selling unleaded very close to £1 a litre.
How to cut fuel costs
If you want to cut the cost further, or you just aren’t a Morrisons shopper, there are lots of ways you can do it.
For starters, head over to PetrolPrices.com to track down the nearest and cheapest fuel prices.
It also helps to pay for fuel with the right credit card. The AA FuelSave Credit Card for example gives holders 4% cashback on fuel as long as you spend at least £500 a month on the card. Just be aware that there is a £3.50 monthly charge on the card.
The Santander 123 Credit Card pays 3% cashback on travel spending, including fuel. It has a cheaper £2 monthly fee, but this will be increasing to £3 from January 2016.
