Fancy the chance to win £250? All you have to do is share your views on a new trust mark scheme which the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is planning to introduce.

The ICO is the UK’s independent authority, set up to uphold your information rights. The ICO promotes data privacy for individuals and transparency across public bodies. You may have heard of the ICO in relation to the misuse of Charity mailing lists, the TalkTalk data security incident, and working to stop nuisance calls.

The ICO is planning to introduce a new public-facing mark in the UK, which it is calling a trust mark. The trust mark will be used as a ‘stamp of approval’ to indicate that an organisation’s product, process or service has been independently certified as compliant with data protection law and good practice. It means that an organisation displaying it will properly look after, and respect, the personal information and data that it has been given. Examples of this would include online shopping, financial, and health information. 

The ICO is in the process of developing this new brand mark and would like to test some options, through this invited survey, to see what you think. All respondents will be entered into a prize draw, with one winner of £250.

Terms and conditions

I. Within this document, any references to Love Incorporated, the publisher of loveMONEY, refer to loveMONEY, Lovemoney Financial Services, and any other publication or platform owned by Love Incorporated.

II. All entrants must be over the age of 18 at the time of entry, and be resident in the UK. All entrants agree to leave honest and appropriate responses within the survey. Any incorrectly completed entries will be disqualified.

III. The closing date for this competition is 31/03/2016. Love Incorporated reserves the right to amend this date without notice.

IV. This competition is run by Love Incorporated, the publisher of loveMONEY.

V. Competitions are not open to Love Incorporated employees, nor those of the Information Commissioner, nor any other organisation directly involved with this competition.

VI. No purchase necessary. 

VII. To win, entrants must leave their email address, so that the winner can be notified. 

VIII. Entries are limited to one per person.

IIX. Submitting your entry is not proof that Love Incorporated has received your entry, and no responsibility can be taken for entries that are lost, delayed, or not received for any other reason.

IX. The Information Commissioner does not have access to any personally identifiable information, and will not use any personal information for marketing purposes unless you grant such permissions when completing the survey. No IP tracking is employed in the execution of this competition.

X. Entrants agree to be contacted by Love Incorporated for the purposes of this competition, and any further information that may further interest them. Entrants may easily unsubscribe from Love Incorporated communications at any time, by following clear instructions contained within the communications.

XI. Winners will be notified via email within 14 days of the competition closing. Once contacted, winners have seven calendar days to respond in order to claim their prize. Failure to respond within seven calendar days will result in forfeiture of the prize, and an alternative winner will be selected.

XII. Entrants agree that any failure in the delivery of communications relating to this competition is not the responsibility of Love Incorporated. Love Incorporated cannot be held responsible for delays, or any other inconvenience and/or failure in communications relating to this competition.

XIII. The Love Incorporated judges’ decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into with entrants or their representatives.

XIV. By entering the competition, winners agree to participate in such promotional activity and material as Love Incorporated may require.

XV. The prizes are non-transferable, and no substitutions are available.

XVII. All entrants agree to read the loveMONEY privacy policy,disclaimercookie policy, and terms of use prior to entering the competition.

XVII. Any/all data collected as part of this competition will be deleted 90 days post competition end date.
