A new era beckons for loveMONEY.
All good things must come to an end. After seven years at loveMONEY, the last four as editor, the time has come for me to move onto pastures new.
loveMONEY has changed an awful lot in that time. The layout of the site has been dramatically improved, as has our daily newsletter. The last few years have seen us receive more awards recognition than ever before, with loveMONEY regularly making the shortlists for best personal finance website, and our individual journalists being recognised for their own stellar work.
It's certainly been an interesting time to write about money. We've seen house prices fall, and now bounce back even higher than their pre-crash peak. We've seen wholesale pension reform, massive changes to the tax system and a succession of 'worst ISA season ever' declarations. When I started at loveMONEY, the longest 0% credit card deals were 10 months for purchases and 16 months for balance transfers. Things have changed an awful lot since then...
Throughout my time at loveMONEY, my hope has been for all of our articles to inform, educate or entertain. I’d hope that you, the loyal loveMONEY reader, would agree that we have managed that.
The thing that I am proudest of is that the articles we have written have helped many of you (and us!) make better financial decisions, and end up with a rather healthier bank balance as a result. loveMONEY has always been and will always be a site determined to help you take control of your finances, no matter how confident you are about money, and will go on finding new and inventive ways to ensure our readers have a few extra pennies in their wallet each month.
The new editor is the brilliantly talented Damian Clarkson, who has previously worked at media giants MSN, AOL and Press Association. I actually tried to hire Damian as my deputy many moons ago, so I am absolutely delighted that he is finally a part of the loveMONEY team. Under his stewardship I have no doubts that loveMONEY will only go on to even greater heights.
It has been my honour and privilege to edit this wonderful website. I wish all of the loveMONEY readers a happy, healthy and wealthy future.
