The Fool's Weekend Money Saver No.3

Updated on 16 December 2008 | 0 Comments

We highlight some of the best shopping bargains on offer this weekend.

Here are some more bargains in our weekly money-saving round-up.

Quidco

I've just discovered Quidco. It's a website that enables you to receive cashback on purchases at many leading online retailers.

You could get 3% off purchases and Apple Store, plus up to 4% off at Play.com, up to 9% at John Lewis and up to 11% off at Game.

Be careful though. Don't get sucked into buying something just because there's cashback. Compare other retailers first to see if they're cheaper without cashback.

PC World

PC World will give you a free laptop if you sign up for the Orange broadband service for 2 years at £14.99 a month.

There's some debate about this offer on our Living Below Your Means (LBYM) board.

Stuart Watson gave more tips on good broadband deals in Six Steps To Cheaper Broadband last week.

Costco

There's another great thread on the LBYM board about Costco. You have to buy in fairly large quantities, but the savings can be significant.

Supermarkets

We thought we'd take a look this week at buying identical goods at different quantities. Surprisingly , it's not always the largest quantities that work out cheapest. Many thanks to our friends at Mysupermarket.co.uk who supplied the data for this. (Their site is great, by the way!)
