Frugal Food

This week we bring you three items for the price of one, half-price bubbly and an extended Pizza Express deal. There are also new money-off supermarket vouchers and a 99p meal deal!

Welcome to Frugal food! Let's kick things off straight away with the best grocery deals around.

Best supermarket deals

This week, I'm going to start with the best offers at Tesco. In the sweet section, Mr Kipling Christmas Puddings (454g) have been reduced from £5 to £2 each. Triple packs of McVitie's Jaffa Cakes are now just £1, reduced from £2.41. And you can pick up nine Penguin bars for 50p, down from £1.29. Just bear in mind that all these deals end on 1st December.

In the frozen section, tubs of Carte D'Or ice cream (900ml) are reduced from £2.99 to £1.49; and this eight-pack of Alaskan salmon fillets is now £4.50 (usual price £9). Boxes of Terry's All Gold milk chocolates are usually £5.50 each; but you can currently pick them up for £3.

And finally, remember that Tesco is currently running a £9 'dine in' meal offer. Until 1st December, you can pick up the £9 deal, which includes two mains, two sides, two desserts and a bottle of wine.

Over at Sainsbury's there are 2 for 1 deals on bags of clementines, Cox apples and satsumas.

And a range of Ben & Jerry's ice cream (500ml) has been reduced from £3.99 to £1.79 - but only until December 1st.

At ASDA, you can still pick up Kellogg's cereal variety packs (25g x 8) for £1, down from £1.99. And there's a good 2 for 1 deal on McVitie's Classic Collection tins of biscuits (600g).

Morrisons is still running some of its excellent buy one, get TWO free offers. For example, you can currently get three boxes of Pattersons shortbread, or three jars of Ragu sauce, for the price of one.

At finally, at the Co-op you can pick up two 400g boxes of Cadbury's Heroes or Roses for just £5 (usual price £4.20 each) or a 900g jar of Nestle Quality Street for £4.50 (usual price £9.50).

There are sometimes much better deals on offer at street markets than there are at the supermarkets. Unfortunately, their local nature makes it impossible for us to cover them properly here.

If you've come across a great food deal at your local market, please do leave a comment at the bottom of the article letting us know. That way, fellow readers in your local area can take advantage of the offer you've flagged up. Thanks!

Tipple

At Sainsbury's you can currently buy 18 275ml bottles of Carlsberg Export for just £6.99, reduced from the usual £14.98.

And Morrisons still has many better-than-half price deals on wine and bubbly, including bottles of Charles de Villers NV Brut reduced from £24.99 to £12.45.

Voucher codes

Two of the vouchers we have for you this week are actually in newspapers, rather than online.

You'll have to act fast to get this first one: Buy the Express newspaper on Friday 27th November and you'll find a £5 voucher for Lidl. It will be valid until 30th November, and you'll need to spend £30 or more in a single shop to make use of it. Unfortunately, the voucher isn't available in Northern Ireland.

Next, pick up the Telegraph newspaper on Saturday 28th November and you'll find a £10 voucher to spend in-store at Waitrose. It will be valid until 4th December, and you'll need to spend at least £60 in a single transaction. As always, just make sure you read the small print, as the voucher can't be used to buy certain products.

Finally, you can currently save £10 on your first online order with Tesco, as long as you spend £50 or more. Just enter the code XX-PD96 at the checkout.

This code expires on 31st December, and you can find out more about it here.

Voucher code promotions tend to be withdrawn quickly. If you've missed out on this one, you can use the following websites to track down new voucher codes as and when they come up:

And finally... a meal deal for 99p!

If you've forgotten to make your packed lunch today, have a look in your local Lidl. The deep discounter is currently offering meal deals for just 99p, including one of a variety of sandwiches, one of several types of crisps and a bottle of water.

As with most deals at Lidl, this offer is likely to run for a very limited time, and is in-stores only.
