Barclaycard launches cashback offer on top 0% balance transfer cards

Updated on 22 September 2014 | 0 Comments

You can earn £15 cashback on balance transfers until 29th September with Barclaycard's top cards.

Barclaycard has launched a special deal on two of its leading 0% balance transfer credit cards.

The credit card giant is offering £15 cashback to new customers that take out either the Barclaycard Platinum 33-Month or Barclaycard Platinum 34-Month card and transfer at least £1,000 within 60 days.

But you’ll need to be quick if you want to take advantage as it’s a limited period offer available to those that apply before 29th September.

Top 0% cards for less

Longer-lasting 0% balance transfer deals give you more time to freeze your debt, but tend to attract big transfer fees.

Barclaycard’s Platinum 34-Month card is the longest-lasting card on the market offering an incredible 34 months to get back in control of your finances, but it attracts a 2.99% transfer fee.

Meanwhile Barclaycard’s Platinum 33-Month deal offers an also impressive 33 months interest-free on transfers, but comes with a 2.79% fee.

The limited period £15 cashback offer can help to offset these one-off fees, meaning you can effectively get a top 0% balance transfer deal for less.

Here’s how Barclaycard's new cashback offer helps it to compete with other top 0% deals on cost when looking at a £2,000 transfer.

Low fee alternatives

If the top 0% cards still aren't in your price range even after the cashback, there is a growing range of cheaper alternatives.

Tesco has a unique deal that doesn’t attract a fee. The Tesco Clubcard Credit Card with no Balance Transfer Fee offers to freeze debt for 12 months for free.

However, bear in mind low-fee deals generally give you much less time to clear your debt before interest kicks in. So you'll need to weigh up if you can afford to go for a shorter but cheaper deal in the long run.
